On June 19, the Qatar BH Project launched a coastal waste clean-up activity at Pasir Ris Beach in Singapore. Over 70 participants from COOEC, QatarEnergy and the KBR design subcontractor team took part in the activity.
Prior to the official kick-off, on-site officers delivered a detailed briefing on core HSE guidelines and beach operation precautions, reminding all participants to use tools properly, stay clear of hazardous water areas, and dispose of sharp debris appropriately.
Set against a refreshing sea breeze, the cleanup activity got fully underway. All participants advanced side by side along designated routes and cleared scattered litter in an orderly fashion. Across the sandy shores and around rocky outcrops, Chinese and international staff collaborated with great enthusiasm under a clear division of labor. They bent down to collect plastic bottles, packaging bags and foam waste and other debris, thoroughly clearing every overlooked corner of the beach.
HSE staff patrolled the site perimeter continuously to remind participants of personal safety, integrating HSE principles throughout the entire activity. With the joint efforts of all team members, all the waste on the beach was collected and disposed of in compliance with standard procedures. The coast, once strewn with scattered litter, was restored to a clean state, with the clear blue sea and silvery sand fully revealing the beauty of nature.
QatarEnergy spoke highly of the activity. “It is extremely rewarding for all of us to pitch in and clean up the beach, We maintained a harmonious, relaxed atmosphere with seamless teamwork, and we eagerly anticipate more similar CSR initiatives to be launched by the project going forward.”remarked Mohammed El-Shabrawi, head of the QHSE Department at QatarEnergy.
This CSR activity fully embodies the spirit of solidarity and shared progress among the project team, QatarEnergy and KBR design subcontractor team. Moving forward, all parties will continue to deepen friendly cooperation, uphold safety bottom lines, fulfill environmental responsibilities, and advance energy cooperation and ecological protection in tandem.
